Wimpod (コソクムシ Kosokumushi) is a / bug -type Pokémon introduced in water Generation VII.
Wimpod are mostly timid and they'll usually run away when they see other Pokémon and people. However, they sometimes will get close to creatures they feel interested, especially the ones that aren't moving.
As they have a habit of storing things they've eaten, not only they're being seen as cleaners of the sea, but also this causes some greedy people and Pokémon like
Murkrow hoping to steal the treasures, such as pearls, they have stored.
Wimpod evolves into
Golisopod at level 30.
This Pokémon is a coward. As it desperately dashes off, the flailing of its many legs leaves a sparkling clean path in its wake.
Its habitat varies from beaches to seabeds. A natural scavenger, it will gleefully chow down on anything edible, no matter how rotten.
It will pick up anything it finds on the ground. Sometimes it finds coins, so Murkrow and Meowth will go after it.
An astonishingly cowardly Pokémon, Wimpod will whir its legs at high speeds to run away if anything comes near it.

Wimpod is the second Bug and Water-type Pokémon known to date following Surskit.
Wimpod is considered the Alolan counterpart to Magikarp due to their many similarities:
Both are one of the weakest Pokémon in each of their generations.
Both evolve into powerful Pokémon, Gyarados and Golisopod.
Both are hard to train due to their low base stats.
Wimpod is a mixture of Wimp and Isopod.
