White Smoke is a Fire-type ability naturally exclusive to Torkoal, introduced in Generation III.

Description

Generation III

Prevents ability reduction.

Generation IV

Prevents the Pokémon's stats from being lowered.

Generation V & VI

Prevents other Pokémon from lowering its stats.

Effect

In Battle

The Pokémon with this ability cannot have it's stats lowered by other Pokémon.

Out of Battle

If a Pokémon with White Smoke is put first in the trainer's team, the chance of encountering a wild Pokémon is halved.
