Wattson (Japanese: テッセン Tessen) is the third Gym Leader of Mauville City in the Hoenn region who specializes with electric types. He will award the player the Dynamo Badge if you defeat him.

Personality

He is overweight and old. However, he is a good inspiration on a new trainer. He is very good with electric type Pokémon, for example: his killer Magneton. He is full of spirit, and laughs at anyone's jokes. He is good at battling, but he is the one that can not make anyone laugh, though he is very caring. He also owns more electric Pokémon that he does not use. Wattson resides in Mauville City.

Ruby and Sapphire Chapter

He lost to Sapphire when Sapphire asked for a Gym Battle. Afterwards during when all Gym Leaders had a meeting, they talked about which Team is good, Team Magma or Team Aqua. Though in the end, both Teams were causing mayhem in the entire region. He was actually drowned by Team Aqua but suddenly Sapphire's Walo saved him to which made Winona and Flannery happy.

• Wattson's name comes from the word WATT, which is a measurement of power in an electrical appliance. This is because he is an electric type trainer.
• After the defeat of Norman, Wattson will be standing in the middle of the city. He will be stressing out over the power plant which can be surfed to just down the road (New Mauville).
• Voice actor Dan Green spoke for Wattson in the Anime.
• In the game, Wattson was said to be the one who founded the Mauville City.
