The Wartortle is a fictional species of Pokémon from the Pokémon series of video games. Wartortle is numbered 008 in the National Pokédex, and is a Stage 1 Pokémon (following Squirtle at level 16 and followed by Blastoise at level 36).

Availability

The only way to get Wartortle is to evolve a Squirtle or through a Trade.

Name origin

Wartortle's name is probably a combination of war, tortoise, and turtle.

Strategy

Since Squirtle's Special Attack is about 3% higher than its physical Attack, it is best using water moves than anything else. Defensively, its Special Defense is equal to its Physical, it is irrelevant whether the other Pokémon is using Special attack types or physical. In Template:RBY, its Special is 65, which is 19% lower than its Defense. It is weak to Grass and Electric, and resistant to Fire, Water, Ice and Steel.
