Trivia

  • The first part of this Pokémon's name is a reference to a glass, viridian. It's also a reference to the fact that Virizion is the more feminine of the threesome, as well as Virizion is a grass-type, and that the Pokémon's color; viridian, is a shade of green.
  • Also the first part of the name might stand for the color green "verde" (in Spanish and probably other Latin languages.)
  • Though it may not look it, Virizion shares traits with both antelopes, deer, and a few traits with felines.
  • Breloom is the only other Pokémon that has Virizion's type combo.
  • Virizion, Terrakion, and Cobalion all have the same eye shape.
  • A foursome is called a quartet, which is what Virizion, Terrakion, Cobalion, and Keldeo are a part of.
  • Virizion shares a few traits with Suicune: They are both the same height, they both have a melodic in-game cry, they are both the last members of their trios, and both are the most feminine of those trios.
  • Virizion along with Treeko's evolutions, Leafeon, Snivy's evolutions, and Leavanny are the only Pokémon that can learn Leaf Blade naturally.
