Firstly, welcome to the wiki! Secondly, some advice: creating articles with just a picture is not a good idea. Any information at all- no matter how little- is helpful, otherwise the page is likely to be deleted.

I wasn't too sure, so I've just been over to check it out. As long as you follow their rules and the style guide, your contributions probably won't be edited. As for character articles, they seem to be ok as long as they have detail and are more than just a paragraph long. Best thing to do is to pop over there and ask an active user or admin; I don't contribute there so my knowledge is limited I'm afraid. Jazzcookie 12:29, July 15, 2011 (UTC)
