More than a week ago Niantic announced that they would ban cheaters. That's a good thing of course to do and should've done way earlier actually. I didn't see all the gyms with level 35 players anymore. It was fun that you could battle gyms again and knew that you could hold it without getting the hackers back in it again after a few minutes.
But also a week ago I saw somewhere a post in which somebody explained that also fair players could get banned. From what I remember they just reported the account a few times and it was banned later. Also, it's good that you can send in a note to Niantic that you think somebody is maybe cheating, but the problem here is that a fair account was banned. And to be honest I think this shouldn't be possibl…Read more >
When you reach level 5 you can join a team in Pokemon GO. And since most of you are level 5 or higher (I hope at least) battling gyms is getting more and more important to most players. Not only for the Poke Coins to buy in-game items like Lure Modules, Incenses, Lucky Eggs and Incubators, but also to get more stardust. Something you really need later on to upgrade your best Pokemon.
Let's head back to the basics first. If you know the basics already just skip to the next paragraph. It's quite simple to attack a gym. Just be in the area of the gym and click on it. You can now see what's in it and attack it by clicking on the fight icon in the bottom right. Select your 6 Pokemon and you can start attacking. Short taps are for a quick attack,…Read more >
Well last week I haven't written any new blog post about my Pokemon GO experiences. Mostly because I don't think you want to know how annoyed I am by Pidgeys, Weedles and Rattatas. At a certain moment I even had 700 Pidgey candies and 550 Weedle candies. And of course also a lot of Rattata candy, but I kind of forgot how many I did have before evolving a bunch of Pokemon for the experience in the game.
When in the city again I tried to evolve a lot of the common Pokemon I find here for the experience with a lucky egg on of course. Levelling up is way easier when you have a lot of candies so make sure you just catch everything you find in the beginning. When walking around I sometimes just find some new Pokemon, although it isn't such a grea…Read more >
If you've read the title you may react like: of course they do. Well, I tested it in some park in a very big city in the evening. There were a lot of people hunting for Pokemon and there were 4 lure modules activated by other Pokemon hunters all the time.
But before I went to the park I walked in the streets of an even bigger city than I live in. I can really say you'll find more Pokemon in there and maybe even rarer ones. However that really depends on where you are. It may be different in other cities and some towns may be very good for hunting. Anyway there are Pokestops everywhere on every corner. You don't have to worry to run out of pokeballs or other items. Walking through the streets I was able to find some new Pokemon and I also go…Read more >
Another day so enough time to explore some more areas in my neighborhood with Pokemon GO. I decided to go to the centre of my city. But before that I went to another Pokestop first. Having arrived around the centre I was surprised by the amount of Pokestops and Gyms in and around the centre. I walked from Pokestop to Pokestop and tried to catch some Pokemon in the mean time. Unfortunately most were Pidgeys, Weedles and Rattatas and sometimes another Pokemon like a Spearow.
When I was at a park with some water around it I was finally able to catch some water Pokemon like a Staryu, Goldeen and Magikarp. Between all the catching I levelled up and unlocked several items for in my bag.
In the evening I saw a lure module was activated on one of th…Read more >
