This page is split into two sections: chronology of the games and of the anime.

Game ChronologyEdit

To start off, you must decide whether to start from Generation I or Generation III. If you start from Generation III, you will go to Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen instead, and you will not get to choose Pokémon Emerald because Brendan appears in his appearance from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in FireRed and LeafGreen. As well, choosing Generation III skips Generation II, meaning that Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will take place instead after the Generation IV games.

Choices: Pokémon Red and Blue/Pokémon Green/Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition or Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire

If you chose Pokémon Red and Blue/Pokémon Green/Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, go to Timeline 1.

If you chose Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, go to Timeline 2.

Timeline 1Edit

  1. Pokémon Red and Blue/Pokémon Green/Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition

The second game gives you another choice to decide between Generation II and Generation III. This time, choosing Generation III will allow you to choose Pokémon Emerald if you desire. Choosing Generation III means that instead of Generation II, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will take place after the Generation IV games instead.

Choices: Pokémon Gold and Silver/Pokémon Crystal or Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire/Pokémon Emerald

If you choose Pokémon Gold and Silver/Pokémon Crystal, stay here.

If you choose Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire/Pokémon Emerald, go to Timeline 3.

  1. Pokémon Red and Blue/Pokémon Green/Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition
  2. Pokémon Gold and Silver/Pokémon Crystal
  3. Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire/Pokémon Emerald
  4. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl/Pokémon Platinum
  5. Pokémon Black and White
  6. Pokémon Black and White Versions 2
  7. Pokémon X and Y
