Underground Lake is one of the three lakes that have a time Gear.

The lake is guarded by Mesprit, one of the three lake guardians. Upon first encounter, Mesprit will think of the player and his or her partner as trespassers,thus the player battles Mesprit, but he or she cannot recruit her. After Mesprit's defeat, time suddenly stops and the player's party and the lone Mesprit escape.
