He first appeared in [[BW010|A Rival Battle for Club Champ!]] where he was also the last Pokémon that Trip used during his battle with Ash in the Battle Club, even though Trip had two more. Using its Cursed Body ability, it managed to disable Snivy's attacks after it got hit by a Vine Whip. It also has many powerful attacks such as [[Hex]], [[Night Shade]] and [[Water Pulse]] which it used in order to defeat [[Ash's Pidove]] and [[Ash's Snivy|Snivy]]. It protected itself from many attacks in their match with its Protect, mainly on Pidove when it tried to use its Air Cutter.
