Tri Attack is a Normal-type move introduced in Generation I. It was TM49 in Generation I.

Description

Games Description
GSC Fires three kinds of beams at once.
RSE Fires three types of beams at the same time.
FRLG A simultaneous 3-beam attack that may paralyze, burn, or freeze the foe.
DPPtHGSS The user strikes with a simultaneous three-beam attack. May also paralyze, burn, or freeze the target.

XYORAS
The user strikes with a simultaneous three-beam attack. May also burn, freeze, or leave the target with paralysis.

Effect

In battle

Tri Attack does damage and has a 20% chance to either burn, freeze or paralyze the target. As of Generation III, Tri Attack cannot burn fire-type Pokémon or freeze ice-type Pokémon. As of Generation VI, Tri Attack cannot paralyze electric-type Pokémon. In a Double Battle, Tri Attack can target any Pokémon around the user. In a Triple Battle, Tri Attack can only target a Pokémon that's adjacent to the user.
