Trainer Cards are small, simple cards that give information on the Pokemon Trainer it belongs to. They featured in the first Pokémon Games (Red, Blue) but over time they started to include more detail. On the most recent Game Versions, the Trainer Card has your ID number, your name, how much money you have, how many Pokémon you have seen, your score, how long you have been playing, your sprite and whether or not you have beaten the Elite Four. On the back it has the date and time of your Hall Of Fame debut, the number of times you have linked with another game, the results of your link battles, how many linked trades you have done and your signature.
If you have achieved a certain goal a small star will appear above your Sprite.
- 1 star - Beating the Elite Four
- 2 stars - Completing the Pokédex
- 3 stars - Obtaining Platinum Undergroung Flag
- 4 stars - Beating Battle Tower (100 win streak)
- 5 stars - Winning all Masters Contests
Black and White
In Black and White, to earn a different colored trainer card, you can do one of the following:
- Beat the Elite Four
- Complete the National Dex
- Collect all props for the Pokémon Musical (a total of 100)
- Obtain all Entralink powers
- Do a 49 streak in both the Super Single and the Super Double in the Battle Subway
When one of the following has been met, the trainer card will change to the next color.
- Green (Default)

- Silver
- Gold
- Black or White
