Tirtouga (Japanese: プロトーガ Purotooga) is a Generation V Water/Rock-type Fossil Pokémon. Tirtouga can be revived from the Cover Fossil. It is based on the prehistoric sea turtle, Archelon.

Tirtouga is extremely similar to a sea turtle, bearing a black/blue shell. Its skin is lighter blue, with its face covered in a marking that is the same color as its shell. It has more of these markings in the middle of its fins.

Tirtouga, alongside Carracosta will appear in BW077 and BW078

Tirtouga evolves into Carracosta at level 37.

  • Tirtouga is the fifth prehistoric Water-Rock Type Pokémon, the other Pokémon being Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, and Omastar.
  • The name "Tirtouga" may be based on the words "turtle" and the Caribbean island of Tortuga or maybe the word "Tortuga" meaning turtle in Spanish. Also there is a chance its name comes from "Tartaruga" which is Italian for turtle.
