Trivia
- Tirtouga is the fifth prehistoric Water-Rock Type Pokémon, the other Pokémon being Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, and Omastar.
Origin
Tirtouga is based on a young sea turtle.
Etymology
The name "Tirtouga" may be based on the words "tortuga" meaning "turtle" in Spanish, and possibly "dirt" due to its partial ground typing. Also there is a chance its name comes from "Tartaruga" which is Italian for turtle.
