They later steals the player's mail and  compete with the player in a rescue mission. It is revealed in the post game that [[Gengar]], the leader, was the human who abandoned [[Gardevoir]] after grabbing Ninetales's tail but accuses the player of being that human instead, causing the player to flee his home to avoid being wrongly punished. Strangely, after the player defeats the main boss of the game, Gengar rescues the player and his/her team. In the post game, the player rescues Medicham in Wish Cave, one of the hardest dungeons in the game, and is rewarded with a wish stone along with access to Wish Cave. Moreover, the player is also later given the option to escort Gengar through Murky Cave in order to meet Ninetales to repent for his sins.
