The Teachy TV (おしえテレビ, Teach Me TV) is a key item that was introduced in Generation III. It is used in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen to teach new trainers about the basics of Pokémon battles. The Teachy TV is obtained via the infamous old man in Viridian City that teaches trainers how to catch Pokémon. The announcer of the programs is Primo, who would later appear in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver as a contestant in the Pokéathlon.
