Swalot is a medium-sized, purple Pokémon. It has little hands, and it moves by sliding along the ground. Gulpin and Swalot are a lot like Grimer and Muk, both in their appearance and the moves they learn.

- Swalot's name is likely to derive from the word Swallow.
- Poof: In the anime, there was a trainer that battled Ash, and that had a Swalot. During the battle,when Swalot got hit by an attack By Ash's Torkal, the angle shows Swalot gritting its teeth, and it is said that Swalot do not have teeth.
