Spenser's Venusaur was Spenser's main Pokemon although it has been mentioned that it is not as powerful as Claydol. Venusaur first appeared in Cutting the Ties that Bind. It was usually seen outside its Pokeball and Spenser was frequently seen riding on Venusaur. In the following episode, Venusaur displayed its considerable prowess as a fighter, defeating Ash's Heracross and putting up a good fight against Swellow but due to Swellow's type advantage and superior speed, Venusaur was eventually defeated.
