Soft Sand (やわらかいすな, Soft Sand) is a held item introduced in Generation II. It's a loose, silky sand that boosts the power of Ground-type moves by 20% when held by a Pokémon. This item can be sold for 50.

Locations Edit

In the Johto region games, this item can be found on Route 34 in Generation II or by Santos in Blackthorn City on Saturdays in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In the Hoenn region games, this item can be found on Route 109 or it may be held by wild Trapinch. In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, Soft Sand can be found as a held item on wild Sandslash. In the Sinnoh region games, one is found on Mt. Coronet or can be held by wild Diglett, Dugtrio, or Sandslash. In the Unova region games, one is found in the Desert Resort.
