The name Sidney likely comes from "insidious" (gradually and secretly causing harm) or "sinister".

His Japanese name, Kagetsu, could originate from 影(かげ) (kage, shadow), 孼(げつ) (getsu, evil), or 月(げつ) (getsu, moon).
