Trivia
- Sho can easily be seen as a rehash of Lt. Surge both in terms of personality and both owning a Raichu. In fact, Sho's episode shares a lot of similarities to Electric Shock Showdown:
- Ash's Pikachu loses to a Raichu owned by an arrogant trainer causing Pikachu to get hospitalized
- Pikachu refusing the Thunder Stone
- Ash wiping the smirk off a trainer's Raichu in a rematch, earning respect.
- The difference between the two is that Lt. Surge originated from the games because he's a Gym Leader, Sho was a one off character and trainer created for the anime.
