The Shiny Charm (Japanese: ひかるおまもり, Hepburn: Hikaru Omamori, trans. literally meaning; "Shiny Amulet") is a key item that, when obtained, increases the chances of encountering Shiny Pokémon to 3 times the normal rate: a 1 in 2,370.6 chance. It can be obtained when you catch all Pokémon in the National Pokédex. Mixed with the Masuda method makes getting a shiny makes it 8 times the normal rate, a 1 in 1024 chance.
Event only Pokémon are not needed to obtain the shiny charm.
The shiny charm is received from Professor Juniper in Nuvema Town in Generation V and from Professor Sycamore in Lumiose City in Gen VI once the National Pokédex is completed.
