Salazzle (Japanese: エンニュート, Hepburn: Ennyuuto) is a Poison/Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII and the evolved form of female Salandit.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Salazzle is a slender bipedal reptilian Pokémon resembling a lizard. She is colored black and purple, except for a pair of pink markings on her chest. Her hands and feet have five fingers and toes each, and a pair of long ribbon-like appendages emerge from its back.
Behavior[]
Salazzle emit toxic fumes that contain pheromones that attract any males in the area and cause them to be easily controlled by Salazzle. A Salazzle lives with a reverse harem of male Salandit. If one of its Salandit fail to bring it food, it will slap the male with its palm. These males are in fact willing to lay down their lives for their leader in the name of “love.”
Salazzle can also defend themselves with noxious fumes and flames, but they rarely elect to do so, instead sending in Salandit after Salandit to battle in their places. When mating season arrives, Salandit will forgo eating and sleeping to search for gifts to bring back to their Salazzle in hopes of earning their favor. Salazzle will choose a single lucky Salandit to mate with, while the rest will have to wait another year to try again. Female Salazzle with larger harems assert dominance over those with fewer Salandit under their control.
Natural Abilities[]
Salazzle produce toxic pheromones that can control any male human or Pokémon.
Evolution[]
Female Salandit evolves into a Salazzle, starting at level 33.

Trivia[]
- Salazzle is very similar to Vespiquen, as they evolve from female Pokémon only. The males of their pre-evolutions never evolve.
- Both of their pre-evolutions also have a gender ratio of seven males to one female.
- Salazzle and its pre-evolution, Salandit, are currently the only Poison/Fire-type Pokémon.
Origin[]
Salazzle may be based on a salamander, which is usually associated with fire in mythology. Its all-female nature may be inspired by the New Mexico Whiptail lizard. Its appearance and posture may also draw inspiration from Dromaeosaur dinosaurs such as the Velociraptor. It may also be inspired by the mo'o, a dragon-like creature in Hawaiian mythology (as Alola, the region Salazzle originates from, is based on Hawaii). Mo'o were stated to be large female lizards with dark scales and would appear when fire was near (referencing its Fire-type). They also had the ability to shapeshift into women in order to seduce and then consume men, possibly being the inspiration for its more feminine build and female-only evolution method.
Etymology[]
Salazzle comes from salamander and dazzle or sizzle.
Its Japanese name, Ennyūto, is a portmanteau of 炎 (en, flame) and newt, newts being amphibians related to salamanders.

- Chinese: 焰后蜥
