Roar in a Normal-type move introduced in Generation I. The user lets out a loud roar that causes wild Pokémon to flee (in a Trainer battle it forces the opposing Trainer to switch out their current Pokémon for another Pokémon choosen at random, from their party.

Pokemon with the Soundproof ability are immune to the effects of Roar (as it is a sound-based move).

Roar can be taught via TM05.
