Roar in a Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
The target is scared off and replaced by another Pokémon in its party. In the wild, the battle ends.
The user lets out a loud roar that causes wild Pokémon to flee (in a Trainer battle it forces the opposing Trainer to switch out their current Pokémon for another Pokémon choose at random, from their party.
Pokémon with the Soundproof ability are immune to the effects of Roar (as it is a sound-based move).
Roar can be taught via TM05.
