Red is the final test of the Generation II games Gold, Silver, and Crystal. He will return in the remakes Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. He is located on the top of Mt. Silver after defeating all the Johto and Kanto Gym Leaders.

The fight with Red begins without ado, with Red simply saying "...". After the battle, Red repeats his line and dissapears. Many players are scared of this event.
