Trivia

  • The mane looks like the kanji for fire.
  • Pyroar, along with its prevolution, are the only Pokémon with fire/normal unique type matchup.

Etymology

Pyroar's name is a play on words, coming from the words pyro, a shorter word for "pyromania", meaning loving to set things on fire/ loving fire in general, and roar, a sound that lions make.
