Garchomp is Professor Sycamore's only known Pokémon (so far) who lives at the lab with him as the main test subject as he researched Mega Evolution. Despite her fearsome appearance, Garchomp is very gentle as shown by her concern for Froakie. She also enjoys company, and happily allows others to pet her. However, when Team Rocket attempted to capture Froakie, Garchomp defended it from Team Rocket's device which then attached itself to her. This caused her severe pain resulting in her going on a rampage through Lumiose City and heading to the top of Prism Tower. Once there, she was carefully approached by Ash who refused to allow Pikachu to use any moves against her since she couldn't help her behavior. Soon, with Ash and Froakie's help, the device was removed and Garchomp returned to her old self.

Professor Sycamore's Garchomp is a dragon/ground-type Pokémon owned by Professor Sycamore.

Biography

Prior to the events of the main series, Garchomp was abandoned in the streets by an abusive trainer who left her behind when she was a Gible. She was later found and brought to Professor Sycamore by Alain. Gible did not trust Sycamore at first, but as time went by, she started bonding with him. Some time later, Gible evolved into Gabite and later into Garchomp. From then on, Garchomp became one of Sycamore's test subjects for Mega Evolution.

She was later introduced to Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu after they took a Froakie who previously saved Pikachu from Team Rocket to the Pokémon Center. However, Team Rocket interfered and tried to take control of Garchomp by placing a mind-controlling brace around her neck. This caused Garchomp to go beserk and go on a rampage across Lumiose City. Luckily, Ash managed to calm down Garchomp and break to brace off her neck while they were on the Prism Tower. She, along with Froakie, watched in terror as Ash dove down to save Pikachu but was miraculously saved by a Mega Blaziken at last minute. Once the crisis was over, Garchomp returned by to normal and happily reunites with Sycamore.

She met up with Ash and his friends again to help demonstrate the power of Mega Evolution with Mega Stones. But the demonstration was interrupted when Team Rocket showed up, stole to Mega Stone machine, and abducted Garchomp. Team Rocket tried to get Garchomp to Mega Evolve, but Professor Sycamore and the gang arrived at the scene with an unexpected appearance of a masked man called Blaziken Mask. Once Sycamore managed to Mega Evolve Garchomp, it started to go out of control. But Sycamore managed to get Garchomp to remember him, and sent Team Rocket blasting off with the help from Mega Blaziken and Pikachu. With Team Rocket gone, Garchomp returned to her trainer once again.
