Professor Juniper

Template:ProfessorBoxProfessor Aurea Juniper (Japanese: アララギ博士 Dr. Araragi) is the regional Pokémon professor of Pokémon Black and White, situated in the Unova region. She uses a Minccino in the introduction. She is the Professor that sets you and your rivals on their adventures. Right at the start of the game, you see her enter and quickly exit a house then you see you and your friends standing in front of a green box, you open it and find three Starter Pokémon and, as in all the other games, you choose first. Your male rival Cheren chooses the Starter with the type advantage over yours, while Bianca chooses the remaining Starter. When you have chosen your Pokémon, she demonstrates the method of simple battling. She uses a Minccino to battle and she catches a Patrat, which can be seen in her lab.

As usual, Ash has Pikachu for a Unova starter. For Ash's rival, Trip, receives a Snivy as a starter.

In the Manga

She is still set to appear. Though it is stated that she was the one who gave the Pokédex to Black, Bianca and Cheren.

		Oshawott was given to Ash after it followed him to a sand spa. It became extreamly powerfull, much stronger than most Dewott, it's evolved form. It was afraid of opening it's eyes under water, until some special training with Ash by a lake helped it.

Trivia

• Juniper is the first female Professor in Pokémon Main Series games, while in the anime, Professor Ivy was the first shown female professor.
• Every Pokémon Professor is named after a tree.
• Instead of Professor Oak, Professor Juniper is now taking care of Ash's additional Pokémon, while he is in the Unova Region.
• Professor Juniper is the only professor known to actually keep the Pokémon caught in the tutorial of the game. The Patrat can be found in her lab any time after she catches it.
