A priority is the value of a move that decides when it is used in a turn. There are three types of priority: positive, neutral, and negative. Priority ranges from +5 to -7.

  • Positive priority: This type of priority allows a move to be performed first. If two or more moves of this type of priority are used in a turn, the highest number will go before the other, but if they share the same number, a Pokémon's Speed will determine what move will go before the other.
Positive Priority
+5 +4 +3 +2 +1
  • Neutral priority: This type of priority has no special effect. If more than one move of this type of priority is used in a turn, the order of which move is performed will be based on a Pokémon's Speed.
Neutral Priority
0
  • Negative priority: This type of priority makes a move be performed last. If two or more moves of this type of priority are used in a turn, the lowest number will go after the other, but if they share the same number, a Pokémon's Speed will determine what move will go after the other.
Negative Priority
-1 -2 -3 -4 -5 -6 -7
