Politoed (Japanese: ニョロトノ Nyorotono) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II.
Biology
Physiology
Politoed is a green, bipedal, frog-like Pokémon with yellow hands, belly, throat, and toes. It has a long, curled hair on top of its head and pink cheek spots that are smaller on the female than on the male. There is a green swirl on its belly. Its legs are well developed and it has bulbous toes and fingers.
Gender differences
Male Politoed have larger cheeks than the females.
Evolution
Politoed is the evolved form of Poliwhirl by trading Poliwhirl while holding King's Rock.

Trivia
- Politoed's shiny in Generation II was a dark green color with the yellow being replaced with lavender. Today, it was blue skin and the yellow is replaced with pink.
Appearances
Anime
Misty owns a Politoed after evolving from a Poliwhirl who wears the King's Rock owned by Ash. Politoed appears as a happy-go-lucky Pokémon and it was later shared by Brock's Ludicolo. In the XY series, it was later followed by Tierno's Politoed whose personality has a combination between both Misty's and Brock's Ludicolo due to Tierno rhythmic dance training and its battles.
Manga
In the Pokémon Adventures Manga, Gold has a Politoed.
