The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, published by Nintendo and developed by Chunsoft, is a series based on the Pokemon RPG franchise. The first two games in the series, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team/Red Rescue Team were released on September 18, 2006. The second installments of the series, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Explorers of Darkness, were released on April 20, 2008. A third installment has been announced and may be released late 2009.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team/Red Rescue Team
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team are the first installments of the Mystery Dungeon series. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team is the second Pokemon game for the Nintendo DS. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team is the last Gameboy Advance game ever to be released.
The game starts with a human who was transformed into a Pokemon and cannot remember anything. The human then befriends a Pokemon that becomes his/her partner. The team then recruits Pokemon to there team, faces foes, and tries to save the world, all while trying to discover the reason that for transforming into a Pokemon.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Explorers of Darkness
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Explorers of Darkness, both released for the Nintendo DS, are the second installments of the Mystery Dungeon series. Like their predecessors, these installments are about a human who transforms into a Pokemon. However the main theme of these games are exploration, instead of rescue.
After helping a fellow Pokemon, the human will join an exploration team, discovering new dungeons, trying to capture a thief that threatens the world, and revealing shocking secrets. The games will feature Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3
According to CoroCoro Magazine, a third installment of the series is to be released. The game will most likely be a continuation of Explorers of Time/Darkness. Riolu will be a featured starter.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky was released in Japan on April 18, 2009 and announced at E3 2009 in North America which it will be released on September 23, 2009. The main plot is set to be an expanded version of the story in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness. It also has five special episodes set in the past or future, they explore various characters.
