The Pokétch is a toy released along with the Japanese Pokédex from the Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl series. Toy Pokétches were packaged and eventually sold separately in 2006. These devices were never released in America but saw huge success in Japan. The original Pokétch was modeled after the schematics put forth by the Diamond and Pearl series games. The second model was released in 2008, designed after the Platinum Pokétch and packaged alone. The Poketches are used chiefly used to tell time, but also have applications designed after those released for the Generation IV Sinnoh games, with the Platinum Poketch having more apps.
