Pokésav is a hacking tool to edit Pokémon Diamond, Pokemon Pearl,Pokemon Platinum, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions and Pokemon Black and Pokemon White save files, developed by a Japanese programmer named COM. One version works with any Diamond or Pearl save file, and another works with Platinum, including those backed up from a commercial cartridge using a flashcart such as the R4 or a cheating device such as the Gameshark Duo. The application can also export Action Replay DS codes, which when activated will provide the same effects in-game as editing the save file. There is also a beta for Black and White. There has been portable versions that have been released. It is quite similar to Pokégen, but the latter is better in terms of making legitimate Pokémon.
With Pokésav, players can edit many aspects of the game including Pokémon, their movesets, the inventory, and in-game records. Because of this, many people consider it to be a "hacking" program used to gain an unfair advantage in competitive play. Creating a Pokémon of any caliber may only take a few minutes with the use of Pokésav, whereas it may take hours and hours to legitimately breed and train the same Pokémon. This brings up questions as to whether the use of the program is ethical.
Saved files can be loaded into the software using the "Load File" option, and then suitably editing as per the demand. Then it is saved into the desired formats as needed.
