Pokeus, it's a virus in the game. It is not a bad virus, it is actually very rewarding to anyone who gets it. Rarer then a shiny Pokemon, Pokerus has the same effect as a Macho Brace. Why does this help you ask? Well, like the Macho Brace, it will double your EV stats, EV (effort values) is a tedious way of training, yet it does help a lot. You can combine a Macho Brace and Pokerus to get a substantial amount of EV's. Example: LV100 Alakazam, no EV's will have around 320 Sp. Attk, LV Alakazam with EV's may have to 405 Sp. Attk. This all depends on the nature your Pokemon has. The lady in the Pokemon Center will tell you if you have a Pokerus. Pokerus is spread through training and battling Pokemon (who do not have Pokerus) with Pokemon who do have Pokerus. After a set amount of time Pokerus will become inactive and therefore unspreadable, to stop/prevent this leave the infected Pokemon in a Pokemon box and the 'timer' that controls the Pokerus will stop as long as it is in the box.

'''Pokérus''' is a virus in the game series that any Pokémon can catch if it has not already been infected once before. The effects of this virus are very beneficial to the Pokémon that receives it. Catching the virus however, is a very rare event, as the odds of meeting a wild Pokémon with it is 1 to 21,845. Similar to the Macho Brace, Pokérus will double the EV (effort values) stats of a Pokémon. A player can combine a Macho Brace and Pokérus to get a substantial amount of EV's.

When caught, the Nurse in a [[Pokémon Center]] will inform you if you have received it.
