Trivia[]

  • This season's name is an allusion to Pokémon: Master Quest.
  • This is the final season directed by Tom Wayland, and the first to be directed by Theresa Bucheister. Bucheister took over in the middle of this season.
  • "An Undersea Place to Call Home!" was originally set to be included in the 17th season with the dubbed air date of July 5, 2014, however since it was postponed, the dub considers it as part of this season.
  • Like the subtitles Indigo League and Adventures in the Orange Islands, the XY Kalos Quest subtitle did not exist during the original production (and thus it is not used within any of its episodes) but was invented by the official site and the digital and home video releases. Like the first two subtitles (when the show was only known as nothing more than just Pokémon), it is named differently within the episodes as Pokémon the Series: XY without Kalos Quest mentioned.
