The Pokémon Tower is a tower located in Kanto that first appeared Pokemon Red and Blue. The Pokémon Tower is a burial site for Pokémon that have died, and serves as a memorial for said Pokémon.
Role in Generation I
The first time the player ventures into the Pokémon Tower, they are usually unprepared, lacking the Silph Scope. While in the Pokémon Tower without the Silph Scope, the player encounters unidentifiable ghosts that are too terrifying to attack. When the player has received the Silph Scope, the ghost is revealed to be a Gastly in almost every encounter (excluding one Marowak). At the top of the tower, there is a staircase leading to where Mr. Fuji is being held captive by Team Rocket, however, the restless ghost of a dead mother Marowak attacks you.
Role in Generation II
Pokemon Tower completely changed in Generation II. It became the Kanto Radio Tower. The new radio tower was just like Goldenrod's, but there is a guard that keeps the player from going upstairs. The graves located in the Pokémon Tower were relocated into a small house called Soul House. The Soul House is located at south end of Lavender Town.
The ghost in the Pokémon Tower is a sprite sometimes used during the appearance of the Glitch Pokémon Missingno.
There is a little girl in the original version in front of Pokémon Tower asking: Do you believe in ghosts? If you say no, she will say: Hahaha, I guess not. That white hand on your shoulder is not real. This is possibly the origin of the White Hand creepypastas relating to Lavender Town.
