Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Special Demo Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスターオメガルビーアルファサファイア) is the special demo version for the primary paired Generation VI games, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, that are enhanced remakes of the third-generation titles Ruby and Sapphire. This demo features a short storyline but a surprisingly large explorable world for some fun gameplay and even a mega-evolving Pokémon to take over to the main game itself!

What’s more, you can bring this Pokémon into your full Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire game. You can even bring over the reward items that you obtained during your Special Demo Version adventure! You can play the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Special Demo Version as many times as you like. Look for special scenarios that occur if you play every day. Getting the Demo

To download the demo you need to download it from the Nintendo Shop with a special code. Codes can be obtained in a number of ways:

  • From October 15, look for your code on the Nintendo Life website. A special section of the website will allow you to claim a code to redeem the Special Demo on the Nintendo eShop.
  • If you have purchased Pokémon X or Pokémon Y via, Smyths Toys, or the Nintendo UK Official Store you may receive an email with your code.
  • If you have already pre ordered Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire via, or the Nintendo UK Official Store you may receive an email with your code.
  • Claim your code at the Pokémon booth during the MCM Comic-con London (form October 24 to October 26).
  • Codes will be sent out in the October edition of the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter. You can sign up for the Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter by clicking this link. Make sure you Opted In to receive emails by October 20th. Check your SPAM folder or add to your address book so that your newsletter doesn't get caught in your spam filter.
  • Codes will be distributed at select cinema locations nationwide from November 7 to November 13 (while supplies last).
  • Check with your local retailer during the holidays to find out about special demo code giveaways (while supplies last).
  • A code will be available after purchasing the new Pokemon Art Academy game from the Nintendo 3DS/2DS eShop. Available on October 24th.
  • A code will be available after purchasing The Pokemon Puzzle Challenge or Pokemon Trading Card game on the Nintendo 3DS/2DS eShop. Pokemon Puzzle Challenge will be available on November 6th, and The Pokemon Trading Card Game will be available on November 13th. The demo code will be on your eShop receipt.
  • Codes will be sent out during the week of October 31st to select Nintendo customers with Nintendo Network IDs who have signed up to receive promotional emails from Nintendo.
  • Codes will be distributed during the holiday mall tour from November 24th to December 21st at 16 different locations throughout the US. Tour locations TBA.


This special demo version can be played over and over as many times as you was and after finishing the first adventure you will be able to go on even more adventures with short objectives. To know that you have finished an adventure, every time you finish one a Coming Soon cut scene will play, the game will save, and you can play the demo again to play another adventure.


To unlock the Glalie with Glalitite, clear the demo one time. To unlock the Set of 10 Poke Balls, clear the demo three times. To unlock the Set of 10 Heal Balls, clear the demo five times. To unlock the Set of 5 Heart Scales, clear the demo ten times. To unlock the Nugget, complete the Strange Secret Mission.

Transferring Pokémon to the Full Version

When the full game comes out the player can transfer the special Pokémon as well as the items unlocked to it by going to Steven Stone to send them over to the full Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire games.
