It is notable for being the first Pokémon racing game and the first Pokémon game to be released for the Nintendo DS. It was a launch title in Japan, Europe and Australia. Dash was developed by Ambrella, who also developed Hey You, Pikachu!, Pokémon Rumble, and Pokémon Channel. This was also the first game to feature Munchlax.
