The Pokémon Anime (ポケットモンスター Pocket Monsters) series is an ongoing animated show that follows the adventures of the series' main protagonist Ash Ketchum and his friends. Since its start in 1997, the series currently has 12 seasons with over 580 episodes, 557 English dubbed, 12 films and a spin-off series. Because it is based off of the Pokémon game series, the Anime deals with a lot of the same material such as locations, Pokémon battles, Gym Leaders, Badges etc..

Despite being almost twenty two (assuming each season as one year though some episodes span more than one day and obvious timeskips are involved) Ash has yet to hit puberty.
