Pokémon: Diamond & Pearl (ポケットモンスターベストウイッシュ！, Poketto Monsutā Diamond & Pearl) is the 3rd series of the Pokémon anime. Pokémon: Diamond & Pear in Japan, it ran from September 28, 2006 to September 9, 2010 and the United States from April 20, 2007 to February 5, 2011. The series cover the main protagonist Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu's adventures in the new region Sinnoh. As always, companions of Ash from the previous series, May and Max, have left the series, and is being replaced by a girl named Dawn. Dawn is revealed to be a native from Sinnoh in Twinleaf Town. While Brock, one of Ash's longest companions, once again re-appears. Team Rocket are still in the series as antagonists chasing after Ash's Pikachu, and oppose Team Galactic. Team Galactic one of the major villain teams going after Dialga or Palkia or Giratina like most other villainous teams went after the Legendary Pokémon in their region. Ash and Brock will also have a new set of clothing.

This series is called Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl in Japan. In short Pokémon DP (it also can be coined as Pokémon Diamond and Pearl). Ash Ketchum starts off his journey (complete with new outfit) to this new region along with his faithful companion Pikachu, leaving behind Brock, May, and Max on their respective quests, and also the other Pokémon which he caught in the Hoenn region at Professor Oak's Lab. This time Ash is going to compete in the Sinnoh League by gaining the eight badges of that region capturing and befriending new Pokémon along the way.
