This Nintendo 64 release was the first non handheld [[Pokémon]] console game. The [[Pokémon Stadium]] title released in America was actualy the second game in the series, with Pocket Monsters Stadium coming out on August 1, 1998. Pocket Monsters Stadium has the ability to connect to [[Generation I]] games for Pokémon transfer and battle on the Nintendo 64. The game never saw release outside of Japan because of the limited number of Pokémon avalable for players to battle with, the grand total in game being 42.
