Trivia

Etymology

"Pikipek" comes from peck and "pick", a word that sounds like peck and can have a similar meaning. It might also use "Picus", a family of bird species that holds most woodpecker species.

Names in other languages

Japanese: ツツケラ (Tsutsukera) from the Japanese words tsutsuki(突き), which means pecking and keratsutsuki(啄木鳥), which means woodpecker.
