Paul's Ninjask was captured before Paul met Chimchar. It was shown being captured in a flashback in Glory Blaze!. Later in A Real Rival Rouser!, it was revealed Paul still had his Ninjask, and Paul carefully chose it to fight Ash's Gliscor. It defeated Gliscor but lost to one of Ash's powerhouses, Infernape.
