Trivia
Edit
- Pansear was revealed on a leaked image along with Pansage and Panpour on September 4, 2010. It was officially revealed in the October issue of Coro Coro on September 11, 2010.
- Pansear, with the other elemental monkeys, seems to be based after the Three Wise Monkeys, with Pansear representing the "Hear no evil", by covering its ear.
- If the player chooses Oshawott as his/her starter, the player will receive a Pansear from an NPC early in the game. If the player chooses Tepig as his/her starter, the male rival, Cheren, will use a Pansear as part of his team. If the player chooses Snivy as his/her starter, the player will face Chili, who uses a Pansear as part of his team, in the first gym battle and the female rival, Bianca, will also use a Pansear as part of her team.
- Its name may be an amalgamation of the words Pan (a name shared by the genus of Chimpanzees and the Greek god of the wild) and Sear (to burn or scorch).
- Pansear's evolution is the second Monkey evolution that is a Fire type, the first being Chimchar's evolution, Monferno.
- In the anime, Chili's Pansear is able to use SolarBeam.
- Pansear is the only Unova Pokemon that evolves by a Fire Stone.
