The Lake of Rage (Japanese: いかりの(みずうみ)HepburnThe Lake of Rage) is the 4th episode of Pokémon Generations.

Synopsis[]

With rumors of a Red Gyarados rampaging in the Lake of Rage, Lance of the Elite Four decides to investigate.[1]

Episode plot[]

Lance and Dragonite arrive at a shop. Lance knocks at the door, then waves at Dragonite, who punches the door with Fire Punch. The door cracks, as Lance and Dragonite slide down. Lance recalled as his Dragonite battled the Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage. He knows that the Gyarados was forced to evolve by the radio waves and decides to find out more. He and Dragonite pass by a statue of Persian, which is actually a hidden camera. The grunts are alerted to see Lance, but also see a suspicious character. The alarm is triggered, though Lance and Dragonite continue onwards.

Lance is shocked to see Team Rocket Grunts, recalling the organization should've been disbanded. The grunts send out Magnemite, Raticate, Grimer, Houndoom and Golbat. Dragonite steps forward and roars. Dragonite takes the hits from Team Rocket's Pokémon, though takes no damage. Instead, Dragonite launches a Flamethrower attack, which burns away the Pokémon. Just as Magnemite rises up, Dragonite slams the Pokémon with its tail and fall down. Dragonite later breaks a door, from where Lance sees a machine that absorbs the power of some Electrode. Suddenly, a Team Rocket member appears, claiming "the kid was a diversion" and sends Weezing out.

Weezing spouts out a Poison Gas attack, so Lance covers his mouth with his cloak. Dragonite emits electricity and electrocutes Weezing with Thunderbolt, who faints, and the man as well. Lance declares their operation has been thwarted and orders the man to leave. Dragonite intimidates the man, while Lance reports to the kid he found the source of the radio waves and will disable it. The kid, however, smiles. Lance has Dragonite destroy the machines and break the glass, which disables the machine that binded Electrode. The Electrode are free and before they leave, they electrocute the man with Thunderbolt.

During the evening, Lance watches as the Red Gyarados roars and dives into the lake. Lance then turns around and leaves.
