During the course of Pokémon Black and White, N had captured several Pokémon to battle against the protagonist prior to the final battle in N's Castle. Afterwards, N released the Pokémon. In Pokémon Black and White Versions 2, N's Pokémon reappear in the wild and can be captured. In addition, if caught, N's Pokémon cannot be nicknamed; all of N's Pokémon will be shown under N's ownership, with its OT belonging to him and ID of 00002.

Using Memory Link, N's Pokémon will become available in the wild. When encountering one of N's Pokémon, the Pokémon will glisten, similarly to encountering a shiny Pokémon.

Some Pokémon are not found in the wild, but rather they are given from those affiliated with N.

After catching all of N's Pokémon and have visited him in the ferris wheel in Nimbasa City, N can be battled in N's Castle. N will use a team based on weather effects, and his team is rotated each season.
