This Misdreavus is a ghost-type Pokémon owned by Morty.

Morty, upon encountering Suicune, had his Misdreavus use Psywave on it. Once it was paralyzed by Gastly's Thunderbolt, Morty tried to catch Suicune. However, Suicune already fled, for Morty was facing an illusion made of ice, while his Misdreavus took damage, as Suicune also used Mirror Coat.[1] The association director of Johto reported the encounter, knowing Suicune was going to Mahogany Town's Gym.[2]

As Morty returned to his Gym in Ecruteak City, he sensed danger nearby. Thus, his Misdreavus used Psybeam, which turned out to be Lt. Surge, who asked for help in finding Gold and Silver.[3] Due to Surge's request, Morty focused on the items belonging to Gold and Silver, while Gastly and Misdreavus increased his concentration.[4]

Morty came to the Indigo Plateau, where he and Misdreavus participated in the Gym Leaders' tournament.[5]

Misdreavus faced Lt. Surge's Electabuzz. Upon taking Thunder, Misdreavus used Spite, which made Electabuzz unable to use that move. Followed with Pain Split, Electabuzz was drained of a part of an energy, which Misdreavus absorbed. Misdreavus fired Psywave, so Lt. Surge swapped Electabuzz with Magnemite, who took the hit.[6] To finish, Magnemite fired Zap Cannon, which defeated Misdreavus. However, before Misdreavus fainted, it used Destiny Bond and upon being defeated, Magnemite fainted as well.[7]

Due to Team Rocket having infiltrated into the Indigo Plateau, Morty and Misdreavus battled the grunts.[8] With other Gym Leaders, they went onto the train, where they fought against Team Rocket members.[9]

Misdreavus and Morty's Gastly were seen with Morty when he talked to Gold. He later on used them to help Gold at the Ecruteak City Gym to help find Lance with a piece from his cape.[10]
