Appearance[]
It has a blue and black top, with blue on the left side and black on the right meeting in a zig-zag pattern in the middle. On the top of the border of the two sides is a yellow crescent moon.

The Moon Ball has the following catch rates:
- x4 for Pokémon that can only evolve through use of the Moon Stone.
- x1 otherwise.

Trivia[]
- In Generation II, the Moon Ball is incorrectly programmed to have an increased catch rate for Pokémon that evolve via a Burn Heal rather than a Moon Stone. Due to there being no Pokémon that evolved with a Burn Heal, the Moon Ball acts the same as a regular Poké Ball. This is due to the Burn Heal having the same index number (0x0A) in Generation II as the Moon Stone did in Generation I (its index number in Generation II is 0x08 instead) and the code for the Moon Ball mistakenly using the old index number.
