Monferno (Japanese: モウカザル Moukazaru) is a Fire/Fighting-type Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Monferno appears to be a chimpanzee with a flame at the tip of its tail much like Charmander and its evolutions. It also possesses beige coloring on its belly, hands, feet, mouth, and ears. Monferno also has blue and red markings on its face along with small fangs, and a patch of red at the base of it's tail.
Special abilities
A Monferno with Blaze's Fire-type moves increase by 30% when it is low on HP. A Monferno with Iron Fist's punching moves are increased by 20%.
Evolution
Monferno is the evolved form of Chimchar as of level 14. Monferno evolves into Infernape at level 36.

Monferno appears in DP088: Camping It Up! where it was one of the Pokémon being trained by Angie. Ash's Chimchar evolved into a Monferno in DP132: Evolving Strategies! during his battle with Paul.
Trivia
- Monferno's flame on its tail dims when it is unwell.
- Monferno's name is derived from "monkey" and "inferno".
- Monferno, along with Chimchar and Infernape, are the first monkey-like Pokémon to be of a type, being primarily Fire Type, other than Fighting and Normal Type.
